Summer is in full swing in NYC, and on Friday July 8th, Sleepy & Boo + Friends are back at Cielo for their monthly session of fiery, full-on Big Apple beats. The July edition is a very special one for us, and we’re looking forward to a truly festive fiesta. The main event on the night is the Birthday celebration for our one-and-only Sleepy, and we’ve also got another B-Day DJ on the lineup in his Cielo debut – Basic NYC regular Jordan Luckett. Back to rock the Cielo decks again is SR Serge from the Sulllivan Room, who just finished a tour of Kiev and Russia. And finally, DJ Times will be in the house with a voting booth for the 2011 America’s Best DJ Poll – where you can vote for Sleepy & Boo and your other favorite US DJs. Add on free entry before midnight for everyone on our guest list (if you email rsvp@basicnyc.com with your names), and a free Champagne toast at midnight by the DJ booth, and it’s shaping up to be another wild night of music and fun on New York’s best dancefloor.
DJ Times’ “America’s Best DJ” poll features 100 of America’s top DJs as selected by DJ Times Magazine. Fans can then vote for their top 5 DJs online, or in-person at tour events, and the winner is the DJ that receives the most votes. The nominees span a huge range of sounds and styles, including regular Basic NYC guests Derrick Carter, Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Mark Farina and many more. We’re honored to be included alongside such heralded talent, and w’ere happy to welcome DJ Times to Cielo on July 8th to be a part of our party.
This summer marks the one-year anniversary of Sleepy & Boo + Friends at Cielo, and it’s been an exciting season here in NYC and beyond. We’ve been able to bring our music to a huge variety of clubs and venues in June – from New York to Hartford to Atlantic City and even San Jose, Costa Rica. We’re also playing at the first-ever Dance.Here.Now. Festival at Governor’s Island (with Fatboy Slim and James Zabiela), with Sharam at District 36 on July 9th, and then heading off to Europe where we’ll be playing at the legendary Amnesia alongside Layo & Bushwacka!, Paco Osuna, 2ManyDjs and many more for the all-new MTV Ibiza party on July 22nd.
