It’s been a whirlwind season for great music in NYC this Fall, and it’s already time for the October edition of SLEEPY & BOO + FRIENDS, our monthly residency at Cielo. We’re back at the club this Friday, October 14th and ready to drop an extended headlining set of the freshest upfront underground tunes. This time, we’ll be joined by two new guests – Illich Mujica and KYU, both making their Sleepy & Boo + Friends debut. And as always, we have free entry before midnight on our guest list if you email rsvp@basicnyc.com. We’ve got so much great music to share with you and we can’t wait to get it all started at Cielo.
To celebrate our recent one-year anniversary of Sleepy & Boo + Friends, and our continued residency at the club, we just completed a brand-new podcast for Cielo. It joins an esteemed list of fellow Cielo residents and guests, including Tedd Patterson, Nicolas Matar and Louie Vega. It’s a true representation of the kind of set you’d hear at CIelo on one of our nights, replete with grooves that range from contemplative deep house to crunchy, energetic techno. We’re loaded up on great music to play on Cielo’s pristine Funktion One sound system, including some brand-new Sleepy & Boo original tracks exclusive edits we’ve been working on. We can’t wait to test drive these on the Cielo dancefloor for one of New York’s most energetic and enthusiastic crowds.
Outside of Cielo, we’ve had the opportunity to DJ and present parties all over the city. We just finished a run at Roseland (opening for deadmau5) where we played three sold-out events. We’ve been hosting events at (le) Poisson Rouge on Saturdays as well, with Mark Farina in town October 15th, and recent memorable nights with Derrick Carter and Miguel Migs. And we’ve been back at the newly-reopened Sullivan Room, celebrating the return of NYC’s homebase for the electronic music underground.
Joining us on the lineup for this party will be Massive Groove’s KYU, and Techtonics’ founder Illich Mujica. Both have been regular Basic NYC guests in the past, and we’re excited to welcome them to the Cielo booth for this event. We’re also celebrating a very special birthday for our good friend Miss Blue Sky, so make sure to hit the DJ booth at midnight for a special complimentary champagne toast.
