Begoña & Mitch at Sullivan Room

After many years of discussion, but little concrete action, we at Basic NYC are proud to announce our brand new website, and we couldn’t be happier with what we’ve got. All the kudos for this project go to our amazing friend Mitch Wells, who is one of the world’s true renaissance men. Go and see for yourself. Mitch is an artist, a designer, a DJ, a producer, a musician, an inventor, a t-shirt maker – just an all-around creative mind who is always willing to lend his services.

In fact, you’ve already seen Mitch’s work before: he designed our Basic logo when we first started throwing our shindigs a few years back. So it’s only natural that he brings our web presence up to par with the rest of the cyber world with this new site.

We love music, we love presenting DJs to you, we love having a good party. And the idea behind the site is tie all of that together. Here you can find out about upcoming parties; you can check out our Q&As, past and present, with the artists we’re bringing to town. You can download mixes from us, and livesets recorded at our parties.  You can let us know how you feel about things by leaving comments of your own. Finally, we’ve got our blog, our own little place to jot down our thoughts on music, on life in New York, restaurants, travel, whatever it is we’re thinking about. And of course, we’re always looking for new friends and collaborators – if you have an idea for us, please drop us a line.
